Car crashes into Houston post office and injures five

A large SUV crashed into a post office window today in Houston. Five people were injured and two taken to local hospitals. The car accident happened about 9:30 in the morning at the 3000 block of W. Fuqua.

The SUV laid tire tracks from the parking lot, through the lawn, over the sidewalk and through the window. Witnesses in line for the post office reported hearing the crash and scattering.

Two of our postal workers and three Houston residents were injured. The good news is that none of the personal injuries from the car accident appear life threatening at this time.

An investigation as to the cause of the car accident is under investigation and no reports have been filed at this time. The post office will remain open to the public while repairs are obviously necessary.

This is the second or third recent car accident in Houston where a car has crashed into a home or building injuring someone. Most people believe that you are safe from an auto accident when in your home or in a place of business.

This latest car accident is another example of the old saying “you can’t be too careful”.
