A National Guard member was honored recently with saving the life of a high school student after witnessing a traffic accident.
Chief Warrant Officer 4 Roby Sisk, of Houston, was recognized for saving the life of Lyndsey Tarrants who is 17.
Officer Sisk was riding with his family when he witnessed a car and pickup accident.
The occupants of the car were pinned down between the car and the ground.
Officer Sisk used is soldier training to provide medical aide to the victims and control the scene for first responders and was awarded a conspicuous serve medal for his heroic efforts.
“Without this act of heroism, this young lady would have become another fatality,” the Governor was quoted as saying. Further quoted in saying, “Sisk’s quick thinking and selfless actions allowed him to make a lifesaving decision. His actions exemplify character and define the term, “Samaritan”.
All too often our news media is focusing on the negative, the tragedy, the controversial or shocking, so it is with fondness that post that I join the list of those who admire the spirit of the American soldier that Chief Warrant Officer Roby Sisk exemplifies.
It is important to point out that Roby Sisk’s two daughters were a part of the rescue and were of invaluable help at the scene and were also honored in the ceremony.
To the Sisk family I say good show!!
