The driver of a SUV was arrested and charged with intoxication assault after running a red light and crashing into another vehicle, according to officers from the Houston Police Department.
HPD officers said the suspect was driving westbound on Westheimer when he ran a red light and rear ended a Toyota Camry driven by the victim. The victim was taken to Ben Taub Hospital where he died as a result of his injuries.
In 2008 more than 1.4 million people in the United States were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, DUI or DWI.
