Tire blowout accident leads to death of child and 2 adults

A tire blowout caused a SUV to overturn on Interstate 45 and resulted in the death of two adults and a three-year-old child.

According to the Texas Department of public safety, a Chevy SUV was northbound on Interstate 45 when a tire failed. The truck flipped over several times, crashed through the median and struck a car in the incoming lane of traffic.

A 53-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman from Sugar Land,  Texas were killed, as was the three-year-old child. Three others who were in the SUV were injured and treated for their injuries.

A tire blowout can lead to very serious consequences. The chances of an SUV rolling our significantly increased when the tire that blows out is located on the rear of the SUV.

Many times it is very difficult for the driver to control the vehicle after a rear tire failure. The vehicle tends to turn toward the side of the tire failure and a resulting steering correction many times leads to a rollover.

Personal injury lawyers who are well versed in tire failure cases will seek to preserve the tire remnants for examination by a tire expert to determine the cause of failure. Many times tire manufacturers are sued for defects in the tire, which led to the accident.
