Wrongful death settlement in lawsuit against the city of Houston

A settlement was reached in a wrongful death case against the city of Houston stemming from a woman who was run over by a fire truck back in March of 2009.

According to the lawyer representing the family, one of the goals of the wrongful death case was to change the policies of the fire stations in the way they compete for calls.

Texas law limits damages against governmental entities.  The Houston City Counsel will vote on funding the settlement.
